Tikaroa James Marsters appeared in the High Court on Friday for sentencing in front of Justice Colin Doherty.
Marsters had been riding a motorcycle through Muri on August 26, 2022 when he pulled over to the left of the road.
He then made a u turn and rode into the path of a passing motorcycle.
The victim sustained cracked ribs during the crash.
Marsters was convicted and ordered to pay $2480 reparations to the victim, $320 towards blood tests, and $50 court costs.
He was sentenced to 12 months of probation and told not to leave the Cook Islands without permission from the High Court.
