Areke Taitai appeared in the High Court at Avarua on a charge of careless driving causing injury on Friday.
The court heard a crash involving two vehicles was reported on August 5 at a roundabout in Avarua where a van had failed to give way.
Taitai had admitted to the facts and entered a guilty plea at his first appearance in court.
There were two victims who had suffered minor injuries, leaving them unavailable to work for a couple of days.
Justice Christine Grice said she had to disqualify Taitai from driving but police said it was not a must, they were no seeking disqualification.
Taitai needed a driver licence for work and there had been no alcohol involved in the incident, the court heard.
In sentencing, Justice Grice said Taitai had stopped to assist the victims who suffered bruising and scratching.
He had admitted the facts and apologised while there were references from his employer and wife.
Taitai was convicted and fined $2000 with $1000 to go to the two victims, 66 per cent to the first victim and 33 per cent to the second victim.
He was ordered to pay $1355 reparation for the vehicle and $40 towards medical costs.
