Two men alleged to have been involved in a massive brawl on Rarotonga last month have appeared in court.

Locals Aaron Junior Ngaoa William and Albert Ikiotua Lazaro, both charged with fighting in a public place, appeared in the Criminal Court at Avarua on Thursday.

The charges stem from a fight at Rehab late Wednesday evening, November 8, in which two stabbings were reported, multiple people including Rehab staff received injuries, and Police backup was required to get the situation under control.

There were 11 men alleged to have been involved.

Lawyer Norman George sought an adjournment for both defendants without plea to 2024 for a callover

George said he was still awaiting disclosure.

The matter was adjourned to February 8.
