Kia Mana, reflects the spirit of the nation and CITC’s commitment to uplift and honour the people who have shaped its success over the past six decades.
CITC staff have been outfitted in striking new uniforms featuring the national colours of green and yellow that will be worn twice a week across all stores.
“New flags now fly high at each location - a vibrant visual tribute to this significant celebration,” said CITC general manager, Gaye Whitta says
Eeach CITC Division has been allocated an island from the Pa Enua to adopt where stores will highlight the culture, heritage, and beauty of their adopted islands through in-store displays and engagement, as well as support the teams from the Pa Enua when they arrive in Rarotonga for Te Maeva Nui constitution celebrations in July/August.
Yesterday, the Kia Mana campaign was launched at CITC Avarua Main Store and CITC Pharmacy with eye-catching displays of the island of Mitiaro/Nukuroa.
On Friday, April 4, the CITC Building Centre and Excil Shipping Ltd teams will launch their promotion for Mangaia at 7am.
Excil Shipping manager, Maru Apera said any funds raised by the Building Centre and Excil Shipping staff will be donated to their adopted island of Mangaia to assist with necessary costs related to the 60th anniversary celebrations.
Whitta said all divisions are working toward full celebration mode by April 17, when judging will take place to determine which team best showcases their adopted island.
Meanwhile, a company-wide staff event is planned for April 12, featuring string band performances and male and female dance competitions. Monthly promotions will continue across stores throughout the year.
A big highlight is the 60-Minute Grocery Grab launch yesterday at the Food Group - a fun and fast-paced nod to 60 years of growth.
“As CITC celebrates this important milestone, the focus remains clear: it is the people who have made the past 60 years possible.
“This campaign is a heartfelt tribute to every individual—past and present—who has contributed to the company’s journey and the country’s development. “Happy 60th Anniversary Cook Islands, Kia Mana,” said Whitta.
