Women in business are encouraged to attend the Taki Tahi business summit next week providing an opportunity to connect, engage and be inspired by like-minded people.

Since 2019, the number of women in business in the Cook Islands has increased indicating that during times of adversity, women persevere.

Businesswoman Ana File-Heather, founder of the Taki Tahi “start-up” project, said the Women in Business Summit offers empowering discussions, networking opportunities and inspiring speakers.

“This summit is an incredible chance to learn, grow, and celebrate women in business.”

Discussions and insights will cover a range of topics including:

• What’s your problem? Problem solving,
• Innovation and the creativity hub,
• Chasing Dollars – making money work for you,
• Tech and the world online,
• The business of health, and
• High-performance leadership.

The in-person event will be held at The Edgewater Resort and Spa from Monday July 22 to 23 for $14 per person. If you’re in early there are several free tickets for women who need one.

Several local experts and international speakers from Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia and the United States of America are prepared to challenge and inspire the audience.

“We have also been very fortunate to have DCD (Development Coordination Division) provide support to include our participants from the Pa Enua,” said File-Heather.

The entrepreneur business development programme is facilitated by File-Heather every year

She has seen a growth in female entrepreneurs since 2019.

During the Covid period, she noted that more women increased their “side hustle” turning it into their full-time jobs.

The Taki Tahi Entrepreneur Development is supported by its partners including the US Embassy, East West Centre, the Cook Islands Government as well as many local agencies.
