Would someone from the RSA or C.I. Government please explain why we would want a Howitzer relic flown over at huge cost in a New Zealand Air Force’s new Hercules aircraft to be placed on public show outside the RSA? This in fact, in it's day was yet another killing machine that was used by us foreigners, to terrorize, injure and exterminate the Vietnamese people, whether they were Vietcong or not. They were indistinguishable, on both sides. Vietnamese fighting a civil war that we had no right to be part of. We were there by unthinking stupid obedience to American policy makers fighting a Red Wave fear and loathing fiction story, courtesy of the CIA for Washington DC war hawks. It's 50 years on, since we lost that war, running for lives out of the place after the NVA tanks rolled through the gate of the Presidential Palace in Saigon. What is there to celebrate, what is there to commemorate but a disgusting part of our military history and the needless loss of innocent lives.
