And if you’ve already booked here for a holiday, it’s definitely a place for you and your partner to enjoy some fine dining and cocktails as you watch the sunset.
When entering this beachfront resort for fine dining, ask the staff to book you a table overlooking the ocean.
Well, one can perfectly see the sunset from wherever they sit at the dining area, but select the view from the entrance of the beach side to get a better glimpse of the sunset while enjoying your cocktail as you make a selection of meals from the menu.
Club Raro’s restaurant, Jalapenos, is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner serving a variety of cuisines.
They have an à la carte menu that gives you a taste of the meals with flavours sourced from local produce.
At this adults-only resort, my colleague and I found ourselves surrounded by pleasant staff, beautiful food, and a perfect location.
We decided to start our evening meal with entrées and chose the Homemade Vegetable Samosa – curried vegetables, spiced pastry with tamarind chutney and avocado purée.
While my colleague chose the Crispy Buffalo Wings – six pieces served with hot sauce or sweet chili sauce.
It felt like we had already had our mains, as the delicious entrées proved quite filling.
For the mains, we first chose the Club Caesar salad – Parmesan croutons, anchovies, egg, and crispy bacon.
The Parmesan makes a big difference with this dish, elevating both presentation and flavour, and it looked quite healthy to me!
Next was the Raro Seafood Medley. If you love your seafood, this is a must.
The seafood medley comes with golden battered fish, crumbed prawns, calamari, fries, salad, and aioli sauce.
We prefer fish that are firm and flaky, succulent, free of bones, not too oily, and white in colour, with crispy fries on the side, and just cooked right – Club Raro ticked all the boxes. Definitely a must try.
And finally, the pan-seared steak. My collegue went for well-done. My steak was well-presented, tender, and juicy served with sautéed potatoes and veggies and beef jus.
There are other meals you can choose from at Club Raro’s Jalapenos. They also serve pizzas ranging from Margherita Tomato, Basil, Mozzarella, Jalapeño Pepperoni, Hawaiian Ham, Cajun Chicken, and Meat Lovers.
Club Raro’s Jalapenos is a must when it comes fine dining experience with an amazing sea view and friendly staff.
Club Raro Resort is located a short 10-minute drive from Rarotonga International Airport and just a 5-minute drive from downtown Avarua.
