Art and education combine in exciting sea turtle project
Local artist Henry Tavioni, pictured with one of his wooden Tangaroa carvings, will be working alongside fellow artists and locals on the onu monument project. The Cook Islands sculpture will represent the green turtle and will be the first of seven sculptures publicising the bid to 'Save the Sea Turtles from Extinction'.

Creating an artwork that celebrates 50 years of self government and the plight of the green turtle has brought together a small group of scientists and artists who plan to carve a monument to the green turtle.
