Concentrating on the dance
Junior Apii Avarua children waited somewhat impatiently for their turn at dance rehearsals, and excitedly leapt to the dance floor when the drums started. 19080912

Students started back at school on Tuesday. For Apii Avarua the kids are not only excited to be back in the classrooms, they are in full swing with rehearsals for the opening of their dome on August 23. Year 8 pupil Ephraim Simpson is happy to be back. “I’ve had enough of the holidays, I missed being at school with my friends.” A keen dancer, he says, being in the team helps keep him fit. Tione Nand couldn’t wait for school to start again and loves his culture. “It’s a lot of fun and when I’m dancing it puts a smile on my face; I miss learning and I’m so happy to be back.”
