Stage set for touch tournament

THE STAGE is set for the much anticipated Cook Islands Touch Association Boxing Day tournament on Monday at The Swamp in Avatiu. The annual event, sponsored by Bluesky Cook Islands, will see 16 teams battling it out for the top honours in the mixed competition. Initially, 20 teams were due to take part in the day-long tournament, but organisers cut it down by four to allow the competition to run more efficiently. Cook Islands Touch Association vice-president and competition co-ordinator Simiona Teiotu said they were all geared for a grand opening to their season.
