Triad Pacific Petroleum director Chris Vaile wrote a letter with a plea for a fair fuel deal and sent it on December 4 to Prime Minister Henry Puna, Finance Minister Mark Brown, Opposition leader Wilkie Rasmussen and Teenui-Mapumai member Norman George. Rasmussen asked Brown in parliament on December 10 whether he agreed with Vaile that the “Toa situation” should be legislated by parliament. Brown replied the government is bound by court conditions as to how much they owe Toa.
