With the end of the school term on Friday, two weeks of school holidays began for Cook Islands students over the weekend.

For children looking for fun and fitness, Youth With A Mission (YWAM) will be holding one of their regular school holiday Kids Camps, from today to Thursday 10 October.

The ‘Truthseekers Get Moving’ camp will have a fitness theme and is open to children aged from 5 to 12 years for only $20.

Places are still available – call YWAM on 20193 or email seeyou@ywamcooks.com to book a place.

The opportunity to work on your tennis skills is also on offer, with a tennis coaching programme running at Blackrock over the first week of the school holidays.

Children from 4 to 14 years are welcome, with two separate coaching sessions held each morning – 4-6 years from 9 to 10am for $5 a day, and 7 years and over from 10 am to 1pm for $10 a day.

Coach Malcolm Kajer says that the early sessions will include co-ordination skills, followed by regular tennis coaching with a focus on technique for new comers, and working on specialised shots for those with some experience, later in the morning.

Beginners are welcome says Kajer, with spaces still available for all sessions

For more information call Kajer on 22033 or 75614, or simply turn up on the day.

The Cook Islands Library and Museum will also be open during the holidays, with the library holding a book amnesty for those who have over due books, during the first week of the school holidays.

Kids are back to school for term four on Monday October 21, with the eight week term ending on Friday 13 December.
