Paradise pace: Canine convoy causes commuter chaos
An elderly man cruising with his dogs early yesterday morning. TALAIA MIKA/25041057

There’s nothing better than a morning cruise in paradise with a dog escort, as long as you can tune out the traffic jam you’re causing and just go at your own pace

Around 8:20 yesterday morning, an elderly man on a bicycle, carrying what appeared to be a shopping bag, was slowly riding eastbound on the back road (Ara Metua) in Tutakimoa, with his three dogs covering one lane.

Despite holding up traffic, people rushing to work smiled and laughed as they overtook him and continued down the road.

Meanwhile, this comes as a result of the lack of footpaths on the side of the road, which this newspaper understands is mostly the case throughout the island.
