New CISNOC executive board member hopes to provide transparency and clarity in finance
Luisa Peters is Cook Islands Sports and National Olympic Committee (CISNOC) new president with Jason Lindsay taking on the senior vice presidency role and Simone Fe’ao is the new treasurer. The new Vice Presidents are Thomas Mereana-Ngauru and Simiona Teiotu.

Former national weightlifter, Luisa Peters is Cook Islands Sports and National Olympic Committee (CISNOC) new president with Jason Lindsay taking on the senior vice presidency role and Simone Fe’ao providing her expertise in finance as the new treasurer.

Simone Fe'ao, who is also the president of Athletics Cook Islands, says she hopes her expertise in finance will provide more clarity and transparency among member federations in terms of CISNOC’s finances.

Fe’ao who is looking forward to her role as treasurer on the CISNOC board says: “There is a real desire among the member federations for transparency and clarity in the finances and I hope with my expertise I can help make this happen and raise the standard of professionalism.

“There is lots of positive energy with the newly elected executive and I’m excited for the future of CISNOC to benefit our wider sporting community.”

For Jason Lindsay, he says he is also honoured and privileged to be supported by the community to become senior vice president of CISNOC.

“I look forward to helping bridge the gap between the executive board and our members to help grow governance and leadership within sports in the Cook Islands.”

Lindsay said he was proud of Peters who is the new President of CISNOC and believes that as a team they would bring positive change to the sporting environment.

As he looks forward to getting down to business, Lindsay said he promotes an open door policy and will always be available for discussions

“I'd like to take the time to thank God, for his love and guidance in this journey of mine. For my church family at Aretanutanu for their constant support and guidance.

“I want to thank my family and especially my close friends for their constant support of me to take on a journey like this.

“It's not going to be easy, but it's exciting to imagine the future of Cook Islands Sports.”

He also acknowledged the appointments of new Vice Presidents, Thomas Mereana-Ngauru and Simiona Teiotu, as well as incoming treasurer Fe'ao and current continuing vice presidents, Mark Short, Clee Marsters and Daphne Hosking Brown.

“A very eclectic and well-rounded board that will hopefully drive some great change for our country,” he added.

The new executive board members were confirmed after the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Monday night.

Meanwhile, Cook Islands News understands that both the 2023 and 2024 finances were not approved at the AGM. CISNOC secretary general Keziah Lewis was contacted via email on this matter. However, when this article went to print there had been no response.
