Kōrero o te ‘Ōrau’s chairman Dr Teina Rongo .
Dr Rongo, a marine biologist by profession, presented to students in Years 7 through 12 at 'Āpi'i Enuamanu.
He stated the importance of climate change, highlighting its effects on our environment across all key areas: the sky, land and sea.
He was also invited to oversee a Taramea (crown-of-thorns starfish) removal project currently being undertaken on the island by a few of the island’s government employees.
Dr Rongo, who specialises in these key areas, shared a bit about himself, detailing how his knowledge of important subjects like the country’s marine life, environment and traditional knowledge has expanded over the years.
