Celebrating International Women’s Day

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (INTAFF) hosted International Women’s Day at the Punanga Nui Market on Saturday with the theme “Accelerate Action for Gender Equality- for ALL Women and Girls.”

According to INTAFF the celebration was beautiful, with a good turnout and an atmosphere filled with joy, inspiration, and unity.

There were empowering speeches, performances and a Women’s History Quiz, honouring the strength, resilience, and achievements of women and girls in the Cook Islands.

Key partners to the event were Cook Islands Family Welfare Association (CIFWA), Cook Islands National Council of Women (CINCW), Te Marae Ora, and World Day of Prayer (WDP) Committee and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
