Opera wows island audience
Rising pacific opera stars, tenor Filipe Manu, soprano Natasha Wilson and baritone Joel Amosa treated a large crowd at The Islander Hotel to a stunning recital on Sunday afternoon. Battling windy conditions that turned the event into what Motone productions co-director called “extreme opera,” the three stars brought the audience to a standing ovation for their world-class renditions of a well-chosen repertoire of songs. The singers also staged two night-time performances of BCI Opera in Rarotonga at The Islander, as well as visiting Aitutaki.

Music lovers were treated to three powerful opera shows over the weekend at the hugely successful BCI Opera in Rarotonga staged at the Islander Hotel.
