The competition was fierce as the top four netball clubs vied for the prestigious final two placements, culminating in intense matches that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
In the Open 1 grade, the semi-final match between Titikaveka and Ngatangiia was a true clash of the titans. Both teams displayed exceptional skill and determination, resulting in a closely contested match. Titikaveka managed to secure a narrow victory, edging out Ngatangiia by just two points with a final score of 16-13.
The second semi-final saw Tupapa face off against the hosts, Arorangi Flames. Arorangi delivered a dominant performance, igniting the court with their fiery playstyle and securing a decisive 10-goal margin victory over Tupapa, ending the match at 31-21.
The Open 2 grade semi-finals were equally thrilling. Arorangi continued their impressive form, this time overpowering Ngatangiia with a staggering 33-13 victory. The Flames’ relentless offence and airtight defence left Ngatangiia struggling to keep up, securing Arorangi’s place in the final.
Avatiu’s clash with Titikaveka in the Open 2 semi-final was a closer contest, with both teams battling fiercely for supremacy. Avatiu ultimately emerged victorious, clinching a 19-16 win that demonstrated their tactical insight and tenacity
As the finals approach, anticipation is building for the highly-anticipated Open 1 final between Arorangi and Titikaveka, set to take place today at 5pm.
Both teams, known for their veteran players and strategic prowess, are expected to deliver a thrilling contest that will determine the 2024 Open 1 season champions.
In the Open 2 grade, Arorangi and Avatiu will face off in what is expected to be another gripping final. With both teams demonstrating strong performances in their semi-finals, the final match is set to be a hard-fought battle for the title.
The rest of the finals will be held on Saturday.
Additionally, the premiership teams will continue their quest for glory with the second round of games completed and the third round set for this Friday.
