Early this morning, the weather office confirmed that Tropical Depression 08F that was been located in the North of Samoa yesterday, was intensifying and located west-northwest of Palmerston Island.
Operational observer Bates Manea said there is expected to be some rain in the Southern Cook Islands and parts of the Northern Cook Islands.
He said the Southern and parts of the Northern Cook Islands will again be affected.
Yesterday, the weather office cancelled the gale warning in force for all land areas of Aitutaki and Mauke waters to the north of Southern Cook Islands.
TC Nat was moving east-southeast at about 18 knots and was expected to move further away from the group and weaken into a subtropical system late last night, according to the New Zealand Met Service.
With
this, the NZ weather office says an active trough of low pressure with
associated cloud and rain affects Northern Cooks.
Meanwhile, Air Rarotonga had a few flight disruptions.
Managing director Ewan Smith said Manihiki and Tahiti flights were cancelled.
He added that there were possible disruptions to Ngaputoru flights yesterday while Aitutaki was running on schedule.
