Paiti Placido appeared in the Criminal Court on Thursday last week where Police asked that the defendant be advised of his right or take a plea.
Justice of the Peace John Whitta said the defendant, who had been under mental health treatment, was accused of riding a motorcycle in a dangerous manner on September 3 while he was found on someone’s property on September 4, without lawful reason.
Mental health authorities said the matter was able to go ahead.
Placido said he would like to represent himself.
JP Whitta said the matter would be adjourned to February 8, with name suppression to continue.
The defendant said he wanted name suppression lifted because “everybody knows me already”.
Police did not have an issue with his request.
The matter was adjourned to February 8, 2024.
