Police spokesperson Trevor Pitt told Cook Islands News yesterday that all available units are maintaining a vigilant watch across the island.
Pitt said that the decision to intensify the search has not yet been made.
“He is currently at large, not necessarily missing,” Pitt explained. “We need help from the public because we suspect someone knows where he is hanging out and sleeping.”
Pitt had previously informed the newspaper that Murare was in violation of curfew restrictions. Following his last disappearance, 7am to 7pm curfew conditions were imposed.
“If anyone has seen him or knows where he may be, please call 22499 or drop by the Police National Headquarters. Police have had no confirmed sightings of the teenager since he was reported missing from home last Wednesday.”
