Every year, the Cook Islands Returned Services’ Association (CIRSA) invites the public to join them in commemorating Armistice/Remembrance Day.
CIRSA encourages everyone to pause and reflect today, November 11, at 11am, the significance of the treaty.
“Remember those who have served and those who continue to serve. Honour their service and dedication, and pay homage to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.”
Those wishing to attend Remembrance Day are kindly requested to arrive by 10.30am. The ceremony will commence promptly at 10.50am.
Remembrance Day is observed annually on November 11 to commemorate the armistice signed between the Allies and Germany to end World War I.
“At the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month – we will remember them.”
