The agent, Izek Lal, said he was in the country to connect with the Fijian community to discuss their services, gather feedback on how KlickEx can improve service delivery, and introduce them to their partners and key points of contact.
Lal said the meeting was an opportunity to collaborate with and assist the Fijian diaspora, as well as to promote KlickEx’s services.
In Rarotonga, Vodafone Cook Islands acts as an agent for KlickEx.
Julieanne Westrupp, Vodafone Cook Islands’ E-Moni executive, said that many Fijians use the KlickEx service.
E-Moni is the first mobile money service in the Cook Islands that enables the transfer or money exchange of electronic value (e-value).
Westrupp said that currently, KlickEx transfers do not fall under the E-Moni transfer process. But Vodafone is working on making it possible to send E-Moni directly to M-Paisa, the Fiji version of E-Moni.
“We are able to send money directly to an M-Paisa mobile phone,” Westrupp said. “Customers have to come in with physical cash, but if the customer has a New Zealand bank account, they can make a direct transfer online.”
Westrupp said the current fee to transfer money using E-Moni services is $8 ($4 to KlickEx and $4 to Vodafone).
KlickEx was founded in 2009 with the aim of providing Digital Financial Inclusion software to the Pacific.
Lal said that consumers trust KlickEx to send money back home to the islands from Australia and New Zealand.
KlickEx has been a household consumer name for over 10 years, thanks to its long-standing money transfer partnerships with Digicel, South Pacific Business Development (SPBD) in Samoa, Wantok in Tonga, and Vodafone in Fiji, Vanuatu, and the Cook Islands, he said.
Lal said that KlickEx has a large network of agents in the Pacific, so recipients have more places to collect or send money in Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu, and the Cook Islands. Recipients can also buy mobile top up, pay bills, or make purchases all from their mobile phones.
The KlickEx Headquarters is located in Auckland to support all Pacific customers, including IT, Operations, Finance, Compliance, and Customer Support.
