Te Maeva Nui NZ closed last night after riveting performances from the 10 participating Cook Islands cultural groups of Aitutaki Enua, Akatatokamanava Mauke, Atiu Enua, A’ua’u Mangaia Enua, Manihiki Te Fuinga O Niva, Nukuroa Mitiaro Enua, Oire Tokoroa, Oire Vaipae, Te Vaka Puaikura, Vaka Takitumu, from across Aotearoa New Zealand.
Strong crowds of 5000 on both Friday and Saturday nights attended the “cultural extravaganza” performances which featured over 1000 performers on stage.
Minister of Tauranga Vananga Cultural Development George “Maggie” Angene along with delegates and judges from the Cook Islands were thrilled to attend event and see the high standard of performances.
