The Cook Islands Rugby Union through its women’s steering committee will hold “She’s a Ruckstar” junior and youth rugby skills clinic for girls aged six years and over from April 17-19 at Raemaru Park in Arorangi.
The objective of the programme is to provide a fun and safe space for our girls to learn and love rugby.
According to the organisers, “She’s a Ruckstar” is a three-day grassroots level programme that will run over the school holidays for girls aged from 6-17 years old to give them a fun and engaging experience where they will learn and love the game of rugby.
It will cover four skill block sessions – Set Up Routine, Principles of Attack, principles of Defense and In-Game Application
Each Skill Block session has been structured around the needs of three distinct age groups:
“For easy distinction we have colour-coded each age group.”
All participants will need to bring their own water bottles, snacks, running shoes (optional), comfortable training t-shirt (colour-coded), training shorts and spare change of clothes.
