Cook Islands Prime Minister Mark Brown was one of the many dignitaries who was invited to the state funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey in London on Monday morning.

The attendance at the funeral came after a busy time abroad for Prime Minister Brown, including being invited to the New Zealand High Commission in London along with other dignitaries, and being hosted at the King’s reception at Buckingham Palace ahead of the Queen’s funeral service.

Westminster Abbey saw over 2000 mourners – among them Prime Minister Brown – bid farewell to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. She was 96.

The funeral was watched by billions of people worldwide, while during the week, people queued up in London, many waiting for several hours, to see the Queen lying in state in Westminster Hall.
