Ngatamaine Pupuke appeared in the Criminal Court at Avarua via Zoom from Manihiki on Thursday on four counts of theft as a servant.

Pupuke represented herself in court.

Prosecution said additional charges were going to be laid.

“The investigating officer has just returned from Manihiki and is still in the process of investigating the case,” the police prosecution said.

“The defendant has been advised she is allowed to seek legal advice and we would recommend that as well.”

Prosecution asked for further adjournment because the investigation was ongoing.

Justice of the Peace Georgina Keenan-Williams adjourned the matter to July 14.

The JP told Pupuke that the advice from police was to find a lawyer.

“They are quiet serious charges you are facing,” the JP said.
