Grandmother Taumatini (Mati) Taia and her daughter Maara are regular stall holders who sell a variety of handmade beaded crafts, floral ei, fruits and vegetables.
Taia enjoys the atmosphere the market provides and says she is looking forward to more opportunities in the New Year.
Maara creates and weaves unusual looking strings of beaded bracelets and necklaces mixing local beads with the shiny imported type.
“I enjoy what I do and its fun coming up with different designs.”
The market will reopen on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.
