In last week’s encounter Nikao Sokattak were out for Avatiu’s blood. Today Avatiu will be looking to redeem themselves from an upsetting turn of events and take down another team, known to be difficult to conquer.
Avatiu hold capable talents but make no sound when on field. Experienced player Victor Elikana, who has been the voice in this team, will look to guide his nippy forwards like Silas Trego and Aaron Simpson through the solid walls of Tupapa’s defensive backs.
Tupapa found their feet in recent encounters and have maintained momentum since then.
A team with multiple experienced players like Anthony Samuela, Grover Harmon and Dave Milanovich have used this to their advantage to overthrow many teams.
But a game like this isn’t one to take lightly as Avatiu have suffered damages in recent games and will be back on the road to redemption.
For the Islander senior women’s division, the ladies in black sit tall on their first-place chairs and will most likely want to continue their winnings through to the end.
Avatiu women’s, who sit below everyone, are still looking for another win.
Avatiu’s Kataraina Piri and Piri Murare will need to bind together their backline when taking on impact from Tupapa’s attacking forwards Elizabeth Harmon, Ngametua Taringa and Kuramaeva Tare, while on Tupapa’s side, the team will want to keep their winning flow in today’s match.
Today’s match will be a test of wits and skills.
At Nikao field, Nikao Sokattak will take on Puaikura for their matches which start at 12.40pm. At CIFA Complex, the host venue of Tupapa versus Avatiu clash, the U15 Boys will be opening up the fixtures at 11.15am.
