Titikaveka will enter Puaikura’s territory today for their face off in the Tower Insurance Premiership men’s competition. Both teams are at different ends of the table however there is a chance for either team to close the gap to climb the table.

Puaikura will be out to redeem themselves today when taking on their neighbours from the south. In their last encounter Titikaveka dominated the match at home. Puaikura will want to turn their campaign around by scoring much needed three points from this match.

The team will be led by Dwayne Tiputoa and Atu Putere who will need to create any opportunity for their forward players to score goals. Jarves Aperau and Paul Luiz Van Eijk, the Puaikura defenders, will be going all out to shut down Titikaveka’s forward-duo Joseph Tuaputa and Nuku Mokoroa.

Titikaveka on the other hand will be looking to repeat their earlier performance against the hosts.

Midfielders Akiona Tairi and Teariki Piri have been key to the team’s success lately and the duo will want to ensure that their strikers get enough opportunities to score for the side.

Down at the CIFA Complex, Matavera will be taking on Tupapa Maraerenga, where both teams will be eyeing for match points from this third round of games.

In the Islander Women’s Championship, last time Titikaveka and Puaikura ladies met, the match ended in a draw. Today Puaikura’s Natasha Dean and Titikaveka’s Tehinnah Tatuava will be leading their sides with the mission to win.

A favourable result for either team will bring them closer to the top of the points table.

At CIFA Complex, the ever improving Matavera ladies will go head to head with competition leaders Tupapa Maraerenga.

Both previous encounters ended in a 1-nil score in Tupapa’s favour, however Matavera will be hoping to stage a major upset with a win this afternoon. But Tupapa won’t take this game lightly as they are expected to go for win to maintain their top spot in the competition.
