The Manihiki Henua traditional hymn performance was one for the ages, inspiring people to leap up from the crowd and start dancing in front of the stage. Their costume was based off Exodus, chapters 16, verses 1-36, which was about the children of Israel, how they were hungry, and that the Lord provided them food from the land, sky and sea, just like the people of Manihiki. The National Auditorium was buzzing with colour and music as Te Maeva Nui teams took to the stage to perform the Imene Pupu (choir) and Imene Tuki (traditional hymn) at the opening night on Sunday.
