The Tāua e Moana crew had the honour of teaching the children of Nukuroa basic sailing skills and sharing a wealth of knowledge about our oceans yesterday. The students made their way down to the Te Ao o Mutu Harbour where three stations were set up by Marumaru Atua - Cook Islands Voyaging Society, Te Ipukarea Society - TIS, and Kōrero o te 'Ōrau. Students rotated between the stations. The crew departed Nukuroa later in the evening for Akatokamanava (Mauke). “Meitaki Rānuinui to the people of Nukuroa for your generosity during our short stay here in beautiful Mitiaro,” the crew said in a Facebook post.
