The New Zealand Maori Ngā Tūmanako Kapa Haka group that delivered a powerful performance at the float parade yesterday will also take to the stage this evening. Te Maeva Nui is an important celebration for Cook Islands people. It is a national culture and dance event held each year to celebrate the August 4th anniversary of Cook Islands independence from New Zealand. It is a time for when the best of the best of cultural items are performed and fiercely competed. Pictured is the Palmerston island float parade.
