Work has begun on upgrading the water and power lines at Avatiu harbour in preparation for the new police patrol boat. The tail end of ex-tropical Cyclone Sarai smashed the western side of Rarotonga on New Year’s Day. With boats docked in the port hammered by the sea swells; the police patrol boat Te Kukupa shunted its mooring due to the extreme weather. Pictured here are workers constructing the bollard.
