Saturday 15: Rugby matches this weekend will be closely fought games as the final match of the round is played out.
This week’s match of the week is between competition leaders Ngatangiia-Matavera Flying Dragons and Avatiu eels.
Ngatangiia-Matavera currently have a 2 point lead in the competition sitting on 26 points with Arorangi in second on 24 and Avatiu in third with 20 points.
A win against Avatiu will be the result the Flying Dragons will be looking for to keep them ahead of the competition.
However, Avatiu will be bringing their best game today as they too will want to take the lead off Ngatangiia, but will need to secure some crucial bonus points to do that.
Look out for Lui Nicholas and the Avatiu forward pack who will need to play a tight match today to supply quality ball to their speedy back line.
There will definitely be plenty of up-front play by Ngatangiia who also boast a strong forward pack and fast paced Fijian backline.
While the Flying Dragons are known for being workhorses at the breakdown, they will need to polish up those set pieces if they are to do well in their game today.
Avatiu on the other hand will want to play an expansive game and attack the Ngatangiia fringes.
In other games, there’s a real fight brewing for third and fourth as Titikaveka, tied on 20 points with Avatiu, take on Arorangi. Tupapa (19 points) will meet Takuvaine (18 points) today. - MW
