Masters build up to Oceania champs

Cook Islands masters athletes will continue with their regular track and field meetings at the BCI Stadium on Wednesday afternoons from 5 o’clock.

This with Hash House Harriers on Mondays is part of their preparation for the Oceania Masters Athletics Champs to be staged in Tahiti in early July.

At the last meeting held on March 3 the standout performance was by Dr Teariki Tamarua in the men’s 65 age group javelin with a throw of 28.10m.

The programme for this Wednesday – 5pm shot put, 5.20pm 60m, 5.30pm discus, 5.50pm triple jump, 6pm 100m/200m, 6.20pm 800m.
