Keep the kids active and out of trouble these school holidays with cricket and tennis.

The popular 88FM and Avarua Bakery kids holiday cricket programme smashes off today at the Nikao field.

The programme will run again on Thursday and on Tuesday and Thursday next week.

The programme starts at 9am and for those parents who can’t drop their kids to the Nikao field – there will be bus travelling right around the island especially for the cricket kids at just $2 each way to pick them up and drop them off again.

The bus will start running at 8am at Caf Jireh travelling towards Avarua, Takitumu and Puaikura with the last pick up point at the OTC store in Arorangi at 8.55am. Kids just need to flag the bus down from the side of the road.

The programme costs $6 for half a day or $10 for a full day with lunch packs available for the kids to purchase.

For tennis players – the Nikao tennis courts opposite the social centre is the place to be.

For more information on the cricket programme call the cricket office on 20744 and to contact Malcolm Kajer for tennis information call him on 75614.
