A duathlon will be held today in Nikao to cater for the huge demand from athletes preparing for local Tin Man Triathlon and the Air New Zealand Rarotonga International Triathlon events.

Today’s duathlon will start at 5.15pm with two courses on offer.

There will be a short course option of a 2km run, 8km cycle and 1km run and a longer 3km run, 16km cycle and 3km run for the more eager athletes.

The next three Thursday duathlons will start at Ngatangiia to give local athletes a chance to get familiar with the international triathlon course.

The local Tin Man triathlon will be held on April 10 with the course distance being a 1200m swim, 31km bike ride and 10km run leg.

The Air New Zealand Rarotonga International Triathlon is scheduled for Saturday May 1 and will include a 1500m swim, 41km bike ride and a 10km run.

So don’t miss out on the opportunity to get some group training in for the upcoming events.
