Panthers out to down Eagles

Hosts the Ngatangiia-Matavera Sea Eagles take on the Tupapa Panthers in today’s main league game at Ngatangiia field.

The Panthers will want to dispose of the Sea Eagles with as little fuss as possible to keep players injury free leading up to the final two weeks of the competition.

But the Sea Eagles won’t go down without a fight and could well pull off an upset which they are capable of doing.

They will just need to keep their composure for the full 80 minutes.

Fitness will also be a big factor because if the Panthers pounce and stack up the points early, which they normally do, the Sea Eagles will need the gas to chase the Panthers.

The Sea Eagles need to stay alert from the first whistle and put up a strong defence to keep the Panthers at bay.

At the Takuvaine valley the Takuvaine Warriors take on the Avatiu Eels in all grade except the premier.

The Eels premier grade jetted across to Aitutaki on Friday to play the Sharks.

So, if you are looking for league games this weekend, the main game is in Ngatangiia starting at 4.30pm or head to Takuvaine for age grade games.
