Cook Islands Volleyball is pleased to announce that today, Fabio Menta, a professional volleyball coach from Italy, will arrive on the island to help with the development of the sport.

Menta was invited to come to the Cook Islands by CIVA vice president Brendon Heath and his arrival could not have been better timed.

The newly elected volleyball committee has started to look at how they might start planning a strategy to develop volleyball for youth, elite players and social players.

Menta brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge on developing and coaching volleyball. His credentials are very impressive and his networks in the world of volleyball will no doubt be advantageous for CIVA.

Menta is in his late 40s and has been coaching volleyball professionally for a number of years.

His coaching record to date includes 136 wins and 26 losses. He has coached in Italy, Cuba and the Bahamas.

In addition, he himself has played competitive volleyball in the top league in Italy.

He is also an accomplished footballer, sprinter, and long and high jumper.
