Team lives up to name

With a team name like ‘Hoops! There it Is!’ – it’s no wonder this mixed basketball team took out the recent social mixed tournament.

The team made up of Danny Williams, Geoffrey Halston, Conrad Piri, Henry Koteka, Charlie Hosking, Marlon Manglit, Moari Allsworth-Halston, Nana Manuela, Maire Browne and Tania Kermode were the team to beat in the mixed tournament.

They registered just one loss during the season against the Saltwater Caf who they then faced again in the grand final of the tournament.

Although team Saltwater Caf featured champion beach volleyball player Brendon Heath – his efforts alone could not dispose of Hoops! There it Is!

The tournament prize giving was expected to be held last night where team Hoops were keen to pick up and take home their mixed tournament champion trophy.
