Resurgent Bears face Warriors

The main rugby league match this weekend will be between the resurging Arorangi Bears and the ever threatening Takuvaine Warriors.

Despite the loss of their captain Augustine Heather the Arorangi Bears have trooped on dealing a massive 44-6 thrashing of the Aitutaki Sharks.

This is sure to buoy the team when they head to the BCI Stadium to meet the hosting Warriors.

Expect to see a fresh Warriors side who had the bye over the long weekend and time to think about how to get their train back on the tracks.

On a good day the Warriors can be a handful for any opponent as the Avatiu Eels experienced in the first round when the Warriors nipped at their tail.

The Warriors have registered a number of draws this year but will no doubt remember the 54-0 thrashing the Bears gave them in the first round.

The squad will need to use that experience to improve on their game today if they are to keep up to speed with the raging Bears.

Meanwhile in other games today the Baby Panthers will host the Baby Eels in the junior grade as well as the senior reserve grade with the Avatiu Eels premier grade away in Aitutaki for their game against the Sharks and the Panthers squad take a break. Get along to Victoria Park or the BCI Stadium for your weekly fix of rugby league action. - MW
