After winning the plate trophy at their debut tournament in Borneo last year, the Cook Islands womens rugby sevens squad is eyeing up a medal at the South Pacific Games in New Caledonia later this year.

The Cooks will contest the womens division of the Pacific Games rugby sevens tournament along with 10 other countries.

While a committed group of women has been hard at training to be in tip top shape for the games the team also has to raise funds to get to New Caledonia.

On Monday, June 6 (Queens Birthday), the Cook Islands Womens Rugby Sevens team will be holding a super housie fundraiser at the Tupapa Centre.

The housie will start at 1pm with just 400 tickets available at $50 each for the afternoons event which has $4000 up for grabs.

Contact Lara Sadaraka on 55714 for your ticket or if you are interested in taking up a new sport and joining the womens rugby training squad.
