Surprising results in last Wednesday’s soccer matches saw the 2010 senior boys champs Arorangi draw against Avatea with a 1-1 result while Nukutere managed to equalise against Avarua in the dying minutes for a 1-1 draw.
Nikao cruised to a confident win over a combined Te Uki Ou/Imanuela team by 4 goals to 2 taking them to today’s semi final match.
In the girl’s division Avarua displayed a lot of skill and talent in their match against Nikao winning their game by five goals to one.
However, Nukutere who faced the combined Titikaveka/Papaaroa team finished their match with a nil-all result while Avatea secured their match with a win against Arorangi by 4 goals to 2.
In today’s semi final match of the senior boy’s division, Nikao will face Arorangi to contest for a placing for the finals next week.
Arorangi, who are the defending champions, will undoubtedly fight to stay in contention for the Primary School title for another year.
In the other semi final match – Avatea will challenge Nukutere to play the winner of Arorangi and Nikao in next week’s finals.
Whereas the losers of those two matches will play for third and fourth placing while the combined Te Uki Ou/Imanuela team will play their combined rivals, Papaaroa/Titikaveka and the winner will go through to face Avarua for fifth and sixth placing.
Avarua will certainly display their dominance against Arorangi in the girls division as they continue their contest in the round robin competition.
All the matches today will be played at the CIFA complex in Matavera with the girls kicking off first at 2.45pm followed by the boys at 3.20pm. –CIFA Media
