New Zealand-based Te Tupu O Te Manava Boiler Boy paddler Allen Sullivan has officially been crowned the fastest senior master oe vaka sprinter in New Zealand.

Sullivan paddled for the Auckland Regional Outrigger Club at this week’s New Zealand Waka Ama Sprint Nationals at Lake Karapiro.

Racing in the senior master men’s division, Sullivan was a cut above the other competitors posting the fast sprint time of 2:18:46 in the W1 (V1) heats over the 500m course.

In the finals of the sprint, he cruised to a gold medal in what was a much slower time than his heat time but it was enough to win him the champion’s title.

Sullivan clocked the 500m finals course in 2:37:26 followed two minutes later by second place getter Anthony Tapp from team Te Uranga O Te Ra with Te Puku O Te Ika paddler George Thomas taking out third in a time of 2:40:84.
