Passion for the health of Cook Islanders has lead Puai and Tai Wichman to buy the Fitness Cook Islands Gym in Nikao.

They now own both fitness gyms on the island after taking over Top Shape in Taputapuatea in March 2010.

Previous owners of Fitness Cook Islands Ianis and Anita Boaza had been looking to sell the Nikao gym for some time and Wichman says that with his involvement and passion for health and fitness – it was a logical move.

Fitness Cook Islands opened as usual this week under the new management as Wichman plans to maintain the Fitness Cook Islands brand and run it as a business separate from Top Shape.

“But the addition of the Fitness Cook Islands brand under the one umbrella, allows for a sharing of resources between the gyms meaning better service and a far greater range of options available to the respective members particularly on the group fitness front,” says Wichman.

He says they have some exciting health and fitness initiatives planned for the two premises with the main aim of making them more accessible to more people. “This is very positive for the health and fitness community on the island and is part of my overall vision to make the gym more accessible and appealing to as many people as possible.”
