The Cook Islands womens rugby sevens team cant wait to get on the field and put into action the months of training theyve done.

They are like wild horses at the gate ready to bolt, said team manager Lara Sadaraka.

Sadaraka said the team morale and spirit is exceptional and this is evident in the teams attitude in the village from dining together to wearing the same team t-shirts and sticking together.

The team have a daunting task ahead of them today with 4 games to play on the first day of competition.

We just have to be smart with our bodies and look after those niggly injuries, commented speedster Mary Adams.

Sadaraka says they have prepared for the 4 games and that its not a huge deal although she admits it is a concern.
