The Titikaveka premier mens soccer side celebrated their 2-0 win on Saturday after an impressive performance against Arorangi in the Lotto Premier Mens round cup competition.

Early in the game, Titikaveka got their campaign off to the perfect start when they were gifted with a free kick which was taken by playmaker Cameron Robertson who without hesitation slammed Titikavekas first goal past the goal keeper.

Both teams were evenly matched with ball and field possession -- however, Titikaveka were persistent and hungry for the win on their home ground and in front of their supporters.

The Titikaveka spectators erupted again when their second goal was scored to extend their lead by two goals to nil.

In the second spell of the match Arorangi came close to adding a goal on their scorecard when shots were fired towards the goal only to be denied by the goal posts much to the relief of the Titikaveka players and supporters.

As the whistle sounded to end the game, the Titikaveka field echoed with excitement as the celebration amongst the players started.

This gives Titikaveka their third win with one draw so far in the round cup competition.

In the other Lotto Premier Mens game played at the Matavera school grounds, Matavera defeated Avatiu by three goals to nil to put their first three points on the points table.

In the CIPS Image & Copy Centre womens competition, Titikaveka held Arorangi to a nil all draw until the last ten minutes of play remaining when Titikaveka gifted Arorangi with an own goal to give Arorangi the one goal to nil win.

At the other venue in Matavera, Avatiu posted their second win over hosts Matavera by three goals to one.

Earlier in the day Arorangi dominated over hosts Titikaveka in the under 14 girls division, winning in style by three goals to nil through speedster and striker Paulina Ponga while in the under 14 boys division both Titikaveka and Arorangi drew one all.
