The first cross country run of this seasons series took place at the BCI Stadium car park last Thursday.

It was a dry run for the 9 male and 6 female contestants.

The course was the same as last year but with a few extra obstacles added.

Roland Neururer and Vanessa Palmer are still showing they are in fine form and took out their respective categories comfortably.

Jacob Pynenburg is improving his form and as the only junior came in second overall. Although there were quite a few masters athletes in the field, most decided to do the open mens distance which gave David Lobb line honours in the masters division.

The Tereora course is always a tough one and everyone handled it well, although some decided that 2 laps were enough.

Todays event, starting at 5.15pm, will be held from the Takitumu Primary School and will be a relatively flat course, but with obstacles.

The run will be slightly longer, with each lap being 1200m long 4 laps for the guys, and 3 laps for the gals.
