Its a case of cool, calm experience versus a tenacious youth in todays mens singles tennis final at the National Tennis Centre.

Soko Teinakirahi will face-off with Lillian Maui in the mens open division final today in a day of national senior championship finals.

The day kicks off at midday and organisers are predicting a tight match between the experienced Teinakirahi and the young Maui.

Before that, two top junior players Fred Pickering and Roland Neururer will be playing off for third spot in the mens competition.

Mary Young and Shona Lynch will hit it out for the singles womens open division title. Both are classy players who never give up and the match promises to be a wrestle between strength and experience.

Rarotongas junior elite players have been lining up with and against a more practised crowd during the competition in recent weeks.

The tournament has been timely as the junior team prepares for their New Zealand Tennis tour beginning on December 7.

Doubles matches will also be played and these matches are expected to show some broad talent as the junior members team up with their senior counterparts. Organisers said it would be very hard to pick the finalists but thought the matches are expected to be competitive.
